Introduction to Energy, Resources and Environment (Gateway) TA with Professor Johannes Urpelainen Position
Job DescriptionProfessor Urpelainen is hiring (1-2) teaching assistants for ERE’s fall 2019 Intro to ERE (Gateway) course, 680.680. Qualified candidates should have completed either the “Fundamentals of Energy” or the “Fundamentals of Environment” course in their first year and preferably have some work experience in the energy and environment field. Successful candidates must have the confidence to assist students with assignments in a variety of fields related to energy and environment, possibly including oil, gas, or electricity, water, transportation, pollution, industry and agriculture, and economic development.
The TA’s main responsibilities
include (i) teaching 1 or 2 TA review sessions per week (ii) attending weekly
class sessions (Mondays, 10a-12p), (iii) holding office hours for 1 hour per week
to assist students, and (iv) assisting Prof. Urpelainen in the grading of the
assignments for the class, including policy briefs, case studies, and the
5-page take-home exam.
